Obituary of Rev. James "JD" Overcash

Rev. James “J.D.” Overcash, 91, of Bridgeton went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2024. He was born and raised in North Carolina to Duke and Carrie (Williams) Overcash. He grew up with six brothers and sisters. He graduated from High Point High School and went on to Ashbury University in Willmore, KY. This is where he met the love of his life, Dale Harris. They were married on August 18, 1956 after they graduated from college. He began preaching in NJ while continuing college at Temple University for four more years. “JD” had also operated a nursery and grew trees and shrubs for many years. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Dale in July of 2000. He is survived by; his two children, Kenneth Overcash and Tami (Overcash) Morey; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Ronald of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.
