Obituary of Linda E. Griffin

Linda Elaine Griffin, 70, affectionately known as “LEG”, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born in Norfolk, VA on April 12, 1953, she moved with her family to NJ in 1960, where she attended Port Norris Elementary. Later on in the Millville school system she blossomed into an enthusiastic cheerleader, and graduated in 1971. Linda then attended Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Education. Linda then returned home, accepting a position with Commercial Twp. Schools. She loved teaching and had a strong desire for her students to learn, she would even spend her own money on supplies and motivational tools for her classroom. She retired from Commerical Twp. Schools after 32 years of doing what she loved. Linda never married but loved spending time with her nieces, Shan and Lauren, and her nephews, Larry Jr. and Kasan. When she wasn't being the best Aunt she could be you could usually catch her shopping! Linda suffered an aneurysm in the late 1990's and never fully recovered, which led to her full retirement. She was preceeded in death by; her parents, Roxanne and Moses Ferguson; and her brother, Al Griffin. Linda leaves to cherish many fond memories; two brothers Larry Griffin (Amy) and Kenneth Ferguson (Rochelle); two nieces, Shan and Lauren; three nephews, Larry Jr., Kasan, and Connor; and many cousins, friends, and students. A Memorial Service will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Monday, July 3rd at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11AM prior to the service. Burial will take place privately. There will be no repast.
