Obituary of Elleta "Ellie" L. Sheppard

Elleta L. “Ellie” Sheppard, of Bridgeton, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Inspira Medical Center in Mullica Hill. Born in Lawn, West Virgina to the late William Holliday and Vena Shaffer Holliday, she had been a resident of Bridgeton since the late 1950's. She had briefly returned to West Virginia in 2005 but moved back to Bridgeton in 2015. Prior to her retirement, she had worked in management at the Rite Aid in Bridgeton. Before that she had been employed at Wheaton Glass Co. in Millville for over 30 years. Ellie had been a member of the Bridgeton VFW Post 1795 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2127 in Bridgeton. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping on QVC and spending time with her cat, Sage. Most of all, Ellie enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. She is survived by; her grandchildren, Stephen Shaffer and his wife, Shannon of DE, Brittany Mendez and her husband, Armando of Millville and Robin Borgese of Bridgeton; six great-grandchildren, Joel, Ellie, Teagen, Kaden, Charlotte and Everleigh and her sister, Mildred Thompson and her husband, Raymond of West Virginia. She was preceded in death by; her daughter, Charlotte Shaffer. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, April 11th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
