Dear Margie and Family,
I was just informed about Jack’s passing today. Please accept my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy. I have wonderful memories of Jack from Bridgeton Little League. I remember the day in tryouts when he picked me to play on his team, Bridgeton Exchange. We went undefeated that year. What a great coach as he taught me so much. At times he would scare the opposing team’s catcher by shouting “there he goes!!!!!!!!!” after a pitch to make him throw the ball to second base!!! The funny thing was we didn’t even have a runner on first base running to second!!!:-) Just Jack being Jack, I can see him smiling now in the dugout......,he loved it. Rest In Peace my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Margie, Sherri, and Brandi, I'm sorry to hear of Jack's passing and we know you took good care of him. He was a fellow educator and a fierce competitor.
When I first came to Bridgeton in 1965, I met Jack at Buckshutem Road School. He made up my class list and his. At the end of the year I told him I got the better class and he agreed. We have many fond memories of times with Jack.
Our condolences to the family.

Dear Margie, Sherri and Brandi,
Our sincere condolences on the loss of Jack.
Have known him since way back in grade school, Bank St. School.
Although only a year apart in age, he crossed me at the corner of Commerce and Pearl Sts. as a member of the Safety Patrol. He always told everyone, "I used to cross Kay when she was a little girl" !
It was a pleasure working at Indian Ave. with Jack as our Vice Principal. He showed respect for all and we shared many laughs along the way.
Keep the many memories you made together as a family close to your hearts.
May remembering the happy times you shared through the years, bring smiles to your faces and somehow help ease the sadness at this difficult time.
Jack was a special Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend.
Rest in peace dear friend. Your suffering is over.
Sincerely,
Kay & Joe Fusco

Dear Family of my Friend Jack Yellin,
I was a friend and classmate of Jack for so many years ! We worked on many
BHS activities together and always had fun !
Jack had a good sense of humor and he made me laugh. One time in particular
our jocular friendship got carried away.
As I recall, Jack was Sports Editor of the BHS Newspaper, "The Echo." Our faculty
sponsor was Mrs. Elizabeth Kirby; she was also our serious, stern English teacher.
I was "The Echo" page 2 editor; I wrote the editorials. etc..
Jack and I were set to give a radio presentation at the local radio station. I began
with introductions. For some reason I did not grasp at the time, something I said
struck Jack's funny bone and he starting laughing. Laughing can be contagious and I started laughing with him. The unfortunate result was that we kept looking at each other laughing and we could not stop.
We laughed the entire time allotted to our presentation. There was probably a
reprimand, but I only recall the laughing. When I saw Jack many years later, I asked him why he started laughing. He said, "Macky, when you made the introductions, you sounded so professional. It struck me funny."
I hope my joyous friend did not suffer much
Warm regards to his family,
Maxine Lubow Gould Kardell, BHS 1959

I met Jack through Margie.... He has always been to me a great guy, great husband, father and grandfather. I said my good-bys to him years ago, knowing the unrelenting path of his disease.
I valued his educational insights with my children. Remember well his dedication to local youth sports venues. He was kind enough to write an article about my (late) husband extolling his weight lifting amateur career. Which, speaking for him (as he passed away three years ago) was one of the highlights of his body building career.
Condolences to his wonderful family.

I enjoyed knowing Jack as a friend and working with him as vice principal at Indian Avenue School. He was an great administrator and in a transparent, quick, meaningful way always took care of business. When we had correspondence, I can still remember him telling me not to write so much(: So, in honor of Jack, I'll keep this short and say that I appreciated him, his words of wisdom and how he kept things fun.
To Jack's beautiful family,
We know you will miss him and we're hoping that the many fond memories will comfort you at this time.
With our love,
Patti and Billy
