Please accept my heartfelt condolences for the loss of Andres. He was my friend for well over 50 years. We used to play kick ball in the tank yard with all the neighborhood children. I lived in Farm Center which was in the shadow of the tank yard so playing in the tank yard was like a back yard for all the kids that lived in the area. Andres was always quiet but enjoyed being with us and we loved having him around. He could always be counted on to be there when we were going to play.
Once we became adults we didn't see much of each other until I started working at the polling place in Deerfield. He and Jo-Ella used to come in to vote when she was feeling like it. I remember talking with her about the student that jumped on her back where she was working. Her health seemed to go downhill from there. I didn't know she passed away until Andres came in to vote and he told me. We would always chat for a few minutes when he came in. Now I have lost another old friend. He will always be my kickball friend in my heart and my mind.
