Robert “Crab” King, Sr. 73, of Vineland died at his home under the care of Hospice on Friday, April 1, 2016. Born in Norfolk, VA to the late Felton King and Mary Fisher King, he was the husband of Geraldine Bell King. Robert had lived at his present address in Vineland since 1971 and prior to that he had lived in the Washington, DC area. Before his retirement, Robert had worked as a licensed machine operator at Anchor Hocking Glass in Salem since 1990. He had also been previously employed by Wheaton Industries in Millville and Durrand Glass in Millville. He was a member, deacon and served as financial secretary at New Hope Baptist Church in Cedarville. In his free time, he enjoyed vegetable gardening for all of the family members, barbequing and cooking crabs for the family. “Crab” was above all else a Family Man. He is survived by; his wife, Geraldine Bell King of Vineland; two sons, Robert King, Jr. of Pleasentville and Gerald King and his wife, Heather of Vineland; three daughters, Tonya King of Vineland, Twana Denby and her husband, Ernie of Viola, DE and Robin Saunders of Vineland; two brothers, Charles King of Washington, DC and Alvin King of Vineland; a sister, Louise Jones and her husband, George of Portsmouth, VA; a sister-in-law, Queenie King of Portsmouth, VA; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by; three brothers, Edward “Lee” King, James King and Hubert King and three sisters, Bessie Carrington, Elizabeth Watts and Ethel Turner. Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Temple, 30 Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, Bridgeton on Saturday, April 9th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton, Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
