Obituary of Sandra L. Corson

Sandra L. (Hummel) Corson, 51, of Hopewell Twp. died unexpectedly on Friday, March 4, 2016 at her home. The daughter of Barry Hummel, Sr. and the late Patricia Hummel, she was the wife of Irving L. Corson, III and had been a Hopewell Twp. resident for 22 years. Prior to that she had resided in Upper Deerfield Twp. Sandi will be remembered for being a dedicated worker starting at the Bridgeton Hospital Emergency Room. From there she joined the Family Business, Hummel’s and the Bridgewater Pub until they were sold. She then went to the Bridgeton Public School System where she worked at the Indian Avenue School. She loved her co-workers and just loved being around people. When she had to leave her position for personal health issues due to Diabetes, she found herself in need of something to do. Because she was so crafty and creative, Sandi started her own business, “Off The Ledge” and she could make the most beautiful creations and enjoyed doing it. Sandi also enjoyed her family and weekend camping with her son and granddaughter (the Light of her life), weekends with Aunt Carole where she enjoyed whatever was planned, usually starting with Happy Hour on Friday. Family get togethers were always something she loved, also especially our Family Christmases each summer in Ocean City. Having Diabetes since she was a child of seven, Sandi never let it get her down or stop her from having a good time. She was the most upbeat person all the time and through all her struggles. “Job Well Done Sandi “ In addition to her husband, Irving and her father, Barry and his wife, Geri, Sandi is survived by her son, Irving L. Corson, IV and his wife Amy of Hopewell Twp; her granddaughter, Madison Corson and her brothers, Dr. Barry Hummel, Jr. and wife Darby of FL and Derek Hummel, Sr. and wife Karen of Bridgeton; A special person in her life, her aunt, Carole Hummel of Ocean City and nieces and nephews, Derek Hummel, Jr., Brooke Tolan (Steve), Abigail Hummel and Zachary Hummel Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, March 10th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, March 9th from 6 to 8 PM and on Thursday morning from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Sandi’s memory be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004.
