Richard M. Keener, 56, died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland. A lifetime Bridgeton area resident, Richard was born in Bridgeton to the late Clyde Keener and Ann Cecelia Camp Keener. He was the husband of Rena Messick Keener. He had been employed as a baker with Big John’s Pizza in Bridgeton for over 40 years and was also a custodian in both the Seabrook and Olivet Elementary Schools. An active member of the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church, he had taught the Adult Sunday School Class and assisted with the Special Needs Program at the church. He was an avid sports fan and a fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed the beach. In addition to his wife Rena, he is survived by a daughter, Megan E. Keener of Bridgeton; a son, Richard M. Keener, Jr. of Bridgeton; a stepson, Joseph P. Ruscitto of Fairfield Township; a granddaughter, Gabryella J. Keener; a sister, Barbara Keener of Vineland and a brother, Stephen Keener of DE. Funeral services will be held at the Bridgeton Assembly of God, 424 Indian Avenue, Bridgeton on Monday, March 7th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church from 9 to 11 AM prior to the services. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township.
