Obituary of Elizabeth Marie May

E. Marie May, 82, of Bridgeton died on Friday evening, January 22, 2016 at her home under the care of Hospice. Born in Roanoke, VA to the late Raymie T. Ruff and Bessie Craddock Ruff, she was the wife of Edgar “Eddie” May, Sr. Marie had lived in Bridgeton since 1978 and prior to that she had been a resident of Seabrook. Before to her retirement, Marie had worked for the Eckerd Drug Store at Carlls Corner and in Bridgeton for many years. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Upper Deerfield Township. Besides her husband Eddie, she is survived by her two sons, Edgar “Eddie” May, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Upper Deerfield Twp. and Robert T. May and his wife Sharon of Upper Deerfield Twp.; three sisters, Ruth Dooley of FL, Leila Phillips of Millville and Mildred Tuthill of Elmer; four grandchildren, Edgar P. May, III, Shawn May, Ryan May and Kelsey May and five great-grandchildren, Timmy, Dylan, Ian, Madison and Emily. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Swanson, Wilson and Boyd Ruff and three sisters, Clory Burdgess, Emmie Overstreet and Irma Heck. Funeral services will be held at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, January 29th at 2 PM. Interment will take place at Olivet Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp.
