Cheryl A. Bard. 60, of Bridgeton died Friday, January 1, 2016 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. The daughter of Christina Pierce Bard of MS and the late John T. Bard, she was a lifetime Bridgeton resident except during her childhood when she was raised in Cedarville. Before her retirement five years ago, Cheryl had been employed with the South Woods State Prison in Bridgeton as a Social Worker for over 12 years. A member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indians, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing and reading. She also enjoyed music and her family and friends. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her three children, Danielle C. Mathews, Danny B. Mathews, Jr. and Justin T. Bard all of Bridgeton; two grandchildren, Johnnie J. Hayes-Mathews and Ja’miel W. Carter-Mathews; two brothers, John T. Bard, Jr. of Woodbury and Michael D. Bard of Elmer; three sisters, Lucy Bard of Bridgeton, Brenda Bard of Bridgeton and Kathy Garcia of MS and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Lisa Bard. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, January 9th at 11 AM. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Fordville Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp.
