Albert C. "Albie" Davis, Sr., age 71, of Quinton Township died Friday, February 24, 2012 at the South Jersey Hospice Care Inpatient Unit in Bridgeton following two years of declining health. The husband of Stella Keen Davis, he was born in Quinton on October 21, 1940 and was the son of the late Norman Davis and Mildred Noble Davis. He had been a lifetime resident of the Quinton area. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Davis had been employed as heavy equipment operator with several construction firms including the Richard Pierson Construction Co. of Woodstown and Paul Nelson Construction Co. of Stow Creek. Besides his wife, he is survived by; two sons, Albert C. Davis, Jr. of Mullica Hill and Richard E. Davis of Upper Deerfield Township; four daughters Allison Forsyth, Louise Gerardi, Katie McCarthy and Sue Davis all of Cape May; two step-sons, Brian Keen of Salem and Albert Erb of Alloway; two brothers, Charles E. Davis and Alfred Girtain both of Lower Alloways Creek; a sister Sandra Drezgal of Quinton; one stepbrother, Luther Nelson; three step sisters, Carol Tayvinsky, Janet Bowen and Luann Boss,15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Millie Darlene Walker. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, March 6th at 11 AM at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mr. Davis's memory to South Jersey Healthcare Hospice Care, P.O. Box 160 Bridgeton, NJ 08302 or to the Quinton Ambulance Assoc., 42 Main Street, Quinton, NJ 08072.
