Obituary of Doris E. Bowser

Doris E. Bowser, 74, of Millville died on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland. Born in Port Norris to the late John Lee and Dorothy Whittington Lee, she was the wife of the late Henry “June” Bowser. Doris had lived at in Millville since 2002 but prior to that she had been a resident of Port Norris most of her life. Before her retirement in 2002, Doris had been employed at the Vineland Developmental Center and the Woodbine Developmental Center. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Port Norris and formerly a long time member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Port Norris. She was a volunteer at South Jersey Regional Medical Center and Inspira Hospice and also enjoyed bible study and singing in the choir. Surviving are four daughters, Charlotte Lee of Millville, Karen Lee of Millville, Sandra White of Toms River and Tyrine Askins of Millville; a son, Louis Parmer of Bridgeton; eight sisters, Marie Ennals of Bridgeton, Thelma Lee of Pine Hill, Brenda Upshur of CA, Vernal Johnson of Port Norris, Sharon Wallace of Millville, Veronica Lee of Williamstown, Darnel Smith of Port Norris and Lynette Forman of Millville; three brothers, Elrod Lee of Port Norris, John R. Lee of Millville and James Aaron Lee of Millville; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leonard Lee and two sisters, Carol Ann Lee and Phyllis Lee. Funeral services will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2411 Memorial Ave., Port Norris on Saturday, January 9th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Haleyville Methodist Cemetery. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville.
