Herman Hall, Sr., 72, of Bridgeton, NJ, passed away suddenly on December 11, 2015 following an extended illness. Herman was born on July 4, 1943 in Teachey, NC to Mildred Hall and Willie Allen Bennerman. He was an only child. He attended Duplin County Schools in North Carolina. After graduating from Charity High School in Rosehill, NC, Herman enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he became a Business Administrative Specialist. Following his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for 32 years. Herman was married to the love of his life, Dianne, and they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 22, 2016. Herman owned several businesses, including the former Dianne’s Female Fashions and more recently Hall’s Bus and Medical Transportation. Herman loved children of all ages. He was a coach and assistant coach for Bridgeton city league sports. He encouraged children to be all they could be. Herman was a member of The Church The Body of Christ in Dover, DE, where his son, Christopher Hall Sr. is pastor. Locally, he attended John Wesley United Methodist Church and Glory Tabernacle, both in Bridgeton. In addition to Dianne, his loving wife of 49 years, Herman leaves to cherish many fond and precious memories five sons, Herman Hall, Jr. (Donyale) of Dover, Martin Hamilton of Connecticut, Pastor Christopher Hall, Sr. (April) of Dover, Jamaal Hall (Kim) of Vineland, NJ, and Minister Dominique Hall, Sr. (Michon) of Dover; 27 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a godson, Byron Griffin, Sr. (Regina) of High Point, NC; Donald Bryant (Joyce) who he referred to as a brother; an uncle, James Lee Jones, of Pantego, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, December 22nd at 11:00 AM at the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday, December 21st from 5 PM to 7 PM and again on Tuesday, December 22nd one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, 154 Cumberland Drive, Hopewell, NJ.
