Josephine A. Brown (Orbanus) age 78 of Amherst, VA and formerly of Millville, New Jersey died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in Lynchburg General Hospital after a brief illness. Born and raised in Williamstown, NJ, she was daughter of the late Katherine and Anthony Orbanus and the wife of the late, John C. Brown, Sr. A graduate of Glassboro High School, she was a homemaker and enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with her family. She enjoyed bluegrass and country music. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Turpin and husband Nelson of Amherst, VA; daughter, Renee Whilden and husband Richard of Millville, NJ and son, John C. Brown, Jr. and his wife Michele (Grotti) of Millville, NJ. She has three grandchildren, Glen Perks, Lauren Whilden and Richard Whilden, Jr., along with three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Hwy 77, Bridgeton, NJ. There will be a viewing on Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm and again on Monday one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Williamstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fairton United Methodist Church, 20 Main Street, Bridgeton, NJ 08302 or Wesleyan United Methodist Church, P.O. BOX 757, Amherst, VA 24521.
