Obituary of Charles S. Belle

Charles S. Belle, Sr., 68, of Vineland died on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at his home under the care of Hospice. Born in Atlantic City to the late Miriam Logan-Williams, he was the long-time companion of Barbara Childers. Charles moved to the Vineland area in 1977 where he lived for the rest of his life. Prior to becoming disabled, Charles had worked as a member of the painters union Local 277 and International 711 from 1985 to 1997. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict. In his free time, he enjoyed playing chess and shooting pool. Charles was known as a very outgoing and friendly person. He is survived by; his companion for over 40 years, Barbara Childers; four children, George Butler of Vineland, Sylvia Butler-Adkins of Laurel Lake, Nalita Crawford of Gastonia, NC and Charles Belle-Butler, Jr. of Vineland; three siblings, Robert Williams of Pleasantville, Mary Deleone of Smithville and Rebekah Tindal and her husband Kevin of NC and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Belle and Bernadette Shepherdson and a brother James Freeman. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, December 4th at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the services.
