Edward “Eddie” D. Blizzard, 86, of Fairfield Twp. died on Friday, November 27, 2015 at his home under the care of hospice following a lengthy illness. Born in Bridgeton to the late Damon Blizzard and Florence Patterson Blizzard, he was the husband of Mamie Mullins Blizzard. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Fanny May Harmon Blizzard. Eddie had lived at his present address in Fairfield Twp. since 1941 and prior to that he had lived in Bridgeton. Prior to his retirement, Eddie had worked at Athey & Co. Accountants from 1985 to 2009. Before that he had worked at the former Owens-Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for over 30 years. He had also been a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict in Germany. Eddie had also been a member of the former Calvary Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeton and a Life Member of the VFW Meade-Woodward post in Bridgeton. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and traveling with his “Babe”, Mamie. Besides his wife, Mamie, he is survived by; two daughters, Cathy Morris and her husband Jerry of Panama and Patricia Phillips and her husband, David of Lakeland, FL; a son Edward Blizzard, Jr. and his wife, Melanie of Cordova, TN; two brothers, Franklin Blizzard of Fairton and William Blizzard of TX; five step-children; Patricia Self and her husband, Robert of Missouri; David Capps, Jr. and his wife, Dale of Hopewell Twp., Shirley Lacy of Upper Deerfield Twp., Danny Capps and his wife, Christine of Alloway and Timmy Capps of Bridgeton; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Besides his first wife, Fanny May Blizzard, he was preceded in death by; a brother, Earl Blizzard. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Thursday, December 3rd at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eddie’s memory to: The Alzheimer’s Association, 3 Eves Dr., #310, Marlton, NJ 08053.
