Virginia “Jinny” Lucas, 89, of Fairfield Twp. died on November 4, 2015 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Born on December 1, 1925 to the late Paul and Helen (Raymond) Lucas, Jinny lived in Bridgeton in her early childhood before moving with her family to Cedarville. After the death of her parents, she moved to her current home in Fairton. After graduating from Bridgeton High School, Jinny began her working career in the Service Department of Owens-Illinois in Bridgeton, where she managed the Teletype Department until the plant closed in 1984. She then became employed by the Veterans Administration office in both Bridgeton and Vineland until her retirement. Jinny was a member of the New Hope Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Bridgeton and was active in her Ladies Bible Study group. She was also currently active in the Owens Illinois office girls group, Toppers, where she had served as President for many years. Jinny loved to travel and had a terrific memory, recalling in great detail trips she had taken and sights she had seen. She was also interested in photography. Besides her parents, Jinny was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Paul (Ella) Lucas and Robert Lucas. She is survived by one niece, Barbara D’Agostino of Fairton; two great-nieces, Kelly Smario of Cheyenne, WY and Angela D’Agostino of Fairton and four great-great-nieces and nephews and cousins, Betty Truxton and Bryant Heston. Besides her family, she had many friends who will miss her greatly. Funeral services will be held at New Hope Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 65 Hitchner Ave., Bridgeton on Saturday, November 14th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Virginia’s memory to help end breast cancer at, Susan G.
