Obituary of Joseph A. Macera

Joseph A. Macera, 68, of Greenwich died Thursday, October 15, 2015 under the care of Hospice at the home of his sister, Diana Morgan in Port Elizabeth where he had been staying during his illness. Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Joseph P. Macera and Theresa Deluke Macera. He had lived in Greenwich for the past five years and prior to that had resided in Upper Deerfield Township. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he served his country through two tours of duty in Vietnam. An avid hunter and fisherman, Joe had previously been employed with Upper Deerfield Township for 12 years. Surviving are his three children, Robert Macera of FL, Tracy Lynn Macera of PA and Joseph Macera of PA; two sisters, Diana Morgan of Port Elizabeth and Toni Weaver of Vineland, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Teresa Ann Henry and a brother, Anthony Macera. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Monday, October 19th at 2 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12:30 to 2:00 PM prior to the services. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
