Obituary of Calvin Shults

Calvin Shults, 64, of Upper Deerfield Township died Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Township. A lifetime Upper Deerfield Township resident, Calvin was born in Bridgeton to the late O. Scott Shults and Lennie Phillips Shults. A well known member of his community, Calvin was probably best known for his dedicated service to the Upper Deerfield Township Fire Company where he was an active Lifetime Member and gave of his time for many years. He will be remembered by many as one of the familiar faces at the former Chiari’s Market in Seabrook where he worked with the Chiari family from 1967 to 1997 helping with stock and maintenance at the store. He had also been employed with Seabrook Farms and at the Cumberland Manor. Calvin is survived by two brothers, David Shults of Bradenton, FL and Gary Shults of Seabrook; two sisters, Linda Sooy of Upper Deerfield Twp. and Darlene Bruce of Pittsgrove. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Benjamin “Clinton” Shults, Caroll Shults and Robert Shults and two sisters, Irene Gilean and Zell Ford. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday, October 6th at 11 AM. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Centerton Free Will Baptist Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp.
