Obituary of George Edward Nottingham

George E. Nottingham, Jr., 54, of Rosenhayn died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Born in North Hampton County, VA to the late George E. Nottingham, Sr. and Geraldine Graves Nottingham, he was the husband of Bonita Jones. When George was around 2 years old his family moved to Port Norris. After spending many years in the Port Norris area, he had relocated to Millville and Vineland. He had most recently been living in Rosenhayn. George was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during a time of peace. He had been most recently been employed as a cylinder refurbisher at National Refrigerants in Rosenhayn. He had attended Atlantic Cape Community College to become a slot technician and Star Technical Institute for electrical technology. An avid sports fan, he was especially fond of the Philadelphia Eagles. He loved reading the bible and sharing the gospel. Besides his wife, Bonita, he is survived by; four sisters, Estella Graves of Cheriton, VA, Annie Graves of Wynona, NY, Octerrit Gray of Millville and Thelma Nottingham of Port Norris; two children, Talena Nottingham of Millville and Alexis Greer of Millville; an uncle, Ben Gray of VA; a special grandson, Shaquille Lee; six step-daughters; one step-son and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Graves and a niece, Lutricia Graves. Funeral service will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1837 NE Boulevard, Vineland on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Halleyville Methodist Cemetery in Commercial Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
