Obituary of Maurice E. Cobb

Maurice E. Cobb, Sr. “Bunk”, 78, of Cedarville went to live with the Lord on Sunday, July 19, 2015. He passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side. Born and raised in Cedarville, where he remained a life-long resident, he was the son of the late John and Florence Dickerson Cobb. Maurice was employed by Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton for 25 years as an electronics mechanic. He had also worked as a construction code official for 32 years with Lawrence Twp. He was a member of the Cedarville Volunteer Fire Co. for 40 years and also served as a deputy coordinator for the Lawrence Twp. Office of Emergency Management. Maurice had been a member of the Cumberland County Fire Police and was a prior member of the 5th Ward Athletic Association. He had been a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pittsgrove Twp. for the past 10 years. In his free time, Maurice loved fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by; his wife of 58 years, Jean-Johnson Cobb of Cedarville; a son, Maurice Cobb, Jr. and his wife Linda of Cedarville; a daughter, Susan Cobb of Cedarville; a sister, Barbara Fithian and her husband Charlie of Fairton; two grandsons, Maurice Cobb, III of Fairton and Zachary Cobb of Cedarville; three great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Ja’Kobe and Kaylee May and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers; Burt Cobb, John “Jack” Cobb, Fay Cobb, Sam Cobb and Joe Cobb. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, July 25th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. A visitation will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday evening, July 24th from 6 PM to 8 PM and on Saturday morning, July 25th from 10 AM to 11 AM.
