As a classmate and friend, I'm proud to have known Al for a lifetime. His love of family, flowers, birds and cats, and his respect for our county's history are indicative of the fine person he was. John and I extend our deepest sympathy.
Most sincerely,
Sally Woodruff Garrison

What a sad day for you and your family. Will always remember Al as the fun-loving guy with the crewcut. Barbara and I send our deepest sympathy to you and the girls. Still remember that Lisa and Tom were both delivered in Elmer Hospital in December 1965. May God's love enfold and comfort you at this sad time.

Dottie, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember many happy times playing on Commerce Street. Al was my first boy friend. He was the only boy I envited to my first grade birthday party. We used to go hunting for turtles together. Cops and robbers, Cowboys and Indians were some of the games we all played together. I remember falling down on your cinder driveway, still have those cinder marks on my knee to this day! Wonderful memories.
Judith, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this most difficult time. Al was a very special guy, and you are blessed to have been married to him for 50 years.
With sincere sympathy,
Margie deWilde Booth

I'm so sorry for your loss. Al was a high school classmate of mine. But, I was also a customer of Acker's Flower Shop. I looked forward each spring to buying annuals he'd grown and discussing plants with him.I still have ageratum coming up each summer from seed I can trace back to plants bought from Al.
My prayers and sympathy to you, Judy, and your family.
