Annie R. Bess, 92, of Seabrook died on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at her home under the care of Hospice. Born in Smithville, GA to the late James A. Carter and Katherine Carter, she was the wife of the late Jerry Bess. Annie had been a resident of Upper Deerfield Twp. since 1960 and prior to that she had lived in Americus, GA. She had been previously employed by Lanning Bros. Farms in Fairfield Twp. and Seabrook Farms. She was a member of Faith Chapel Church in Bridgeton and had previously attended the former New Hopeful Baptist Church in Upper Deerfield Twp. She is survived by two sons, James Bess and Walter Bess both of Upper Deerfield Twp. Besides her husband Jerry, she was preceded in death by a son, Roderick Bess; a brother, Walter J. Sutton and two sisters, Mattie Hodge and Odessa Bess. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 4th at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Gouldtown Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
