Obituary Donald Westley Erbie, 55, of Upper Deerfield Twp. passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland. He was born in Englewood, NJ on June 24, 1959 to Rosie B. Clark of GA and the late Donald B. Erbie. He graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood in 1977. After high school he worked for the NJ Department of Transportation in Englewood and left that employment to join the United States Marine Corps where he was honorably discharged after two years of service to his country. He then resided in Bridgeton and was employed with the Resorts Casino in Atlantic City and the Minot Foods Company in Bridgeton. Donald was an avid sports fan who loved to talk sports with anyone who would listen. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Lakers and was also a classic car enthusiast and was knowlegable about most cars. He is survived by his long-time companion, Sherry Holmes of Upper Deerfield Twp.; his stepmother, Norma Erbie of Englewood; his three children, Antione Holmes, Sr. of Vineland, Tamara Erbie of Lindenwold and Destinay Erbie of Bridgeton; five sisters, Doris Clark Ossorio and her husband John Ossorio of Camden, Denise Erbie Harris and her husband Bobby Westley Harris of Vineland and Tracy Erbie of McRae, GA and Donna Ruddock and Janet of Englewood; four brothers, Willie Claude Eason and his wife Pamela Eason of Helena,GA, Marc Erbie of Millville and Wayne and Stephen Ruddock of Englewood; one grandson, Antione Holmes, Jr.; three nephews, Claude Willie Eason, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and Kyee Harris and Jamaal Harris both of Vineland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a great-nephew, Nuke Harris of Vineland. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald B. Erbie and his brother, Claude Erbie. Funeral services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Donald’s memory to The Gift of Life Family House at Gift of Life Family House. Donald was a heart transplant recipient and his family hopes that friends and family would help other families of transplant patients in his memory.
