Eva M. Gant, 90, of Bridgeton died on Wednesday, March 4, 2014 at her home. Born in Americus, GA to the late Homer Hollis and Barbara Patrick Hollis, she was the wife of the late William Gant. She had lived in Bridgeton for over 50 years and prior to that had been a resident of Cedarville. Eva had been employed at the Cumberland Manor prior to her retirement. She is survived by two daughters, Linda M. Mack of Bridgeton and Regina Burns of Bridgeton; a brother, Jessie Thomas of Bridgeton, 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, William, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Patterson; two brothers, Joseph Thomas and Jake Thomas and two sisters, Orsola Gilmore and Minnie Ruth Morris. Funeral services will be held at Second Pilgrim Baptist Church, Newport-Cedarville Rd., Lawrence Twp. on Thursday, March 12th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
