Obituary of Gertrude B. Diament

Gertrude B. Diament, age 90, of Millville and formerly of Cedarville died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Millville Center following a brief illness. Born in Bridgeton on January 20, 1922 she was the daughter of the late John W. Shultz, Sr. and Eva Banks Shultz. She had resided in Millville for the 28 years and was a Cedarville resident for 50 years prior to that. Ms. Diament had been employed with the Downe Township Board of Education from 1976 to her retirement, Leone Industries in Bridgeton and the Cross Transportation Company in Upper Deerfield Township for over 21 years. A veteran of World War Two, she served her country as a Corporal in the United States Army. She was a member of St. Michaels Church in Cedarville, a former trustee of the Cedarville Library and a member of V.F.W. Nabb-Leslie Post in Millville. Surviving are her sister, Arminda Peterson of Millville; two granddaughters, Candace Moore of Millville and Valerie Diament of Florida; two great-grandchildren, Gillian E. Moore and Joseph M. Moore; a son, Ernest R. Diament and his wife Theresa of Cedarville and her former daughter in law and caregiver, Joanne M. Saulin of Millville. She was predeceased by two brothers, John W. Shultz, Jr. and Lewis B. Shultz and a sister, Sara E. Starkey. Her Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Michaels Church, 367 Main Street, Cedarville on Monday, January 30th at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church on Monday morning from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Cedarville.
