Obituary of Ruth Carll Broomall-McConnell

Ruth C. Broomall-McConnell, 94, of Fortescue died on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Twp. Born in Bridgeton to the late Alvin Brooks Carll and Bertha Holmes Carll, she was the wife of the late Lawrence Ward Broomall and the late Craig McConnell respectively. She had been a lifetime resident of Fortescue. Ruth had been employed as a first grade elementary school teacher at Wenonah Elementary School for nearly 40 years. She had been a member of Fortescue Chapel in Fortescue and the Downe Twp. Seniors Group and Senior Center. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Jensen of VA; two sons, Lawrence Ward Broomall, Jr. and his wife Donna of VA and Thomas M. Broomall and his wife Debra of Marlton; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at Fortescue Chapel, 157 New Jersey Ave., Fortescue, on Wednesday, February 18th at 8 PM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp on Thursday morning at 10 AM. Friends will be received at the church from 6 PM to 8 PM prior to the services on Wednesday evening.
