Jo-Ella Dawson-Nurk, 59, of Upper Deerfield Twp. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Cooper University Hospital in Camden following a lengthy illness. Born in Bridgeton to James W. Dawson and Dorothy Walker Dawson of Deerfield Twp., she was the wife of Andres Nurk. Jo-Ella had lived in Upper Deerfield Twp. for 35 years and prior to that she had resided in Deerfield Twp. She had formerly been employed as the Director of Nursing at Rainbow Center in Pittsgrove Twp. and later had worked with autistic children in Salem County with the State of New Jersey. She was a member of the Centerton Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by three sisters, Virginia Fallows of Millville, Cheryl Lynn Lewis of S.C. and Mary Ann Michaud of Vineland; three brothers, Mark Dawson of Deerfield Twp., Curtis Dawson of BenSalem, PA and Robert Dawson of Upper Deerfield Twp. and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Centerton Free Will Baptist Church, Dealtown Rd., Pittsgrove, on Thursday, January 15th at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Northville Lutheran Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church form 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
