Richard D. Jameson, 84, of Pittsgrove Twp. died on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at his home. Born in Pittsburg, PA to the late John Harold Jameson and Margaret Louise Rock Jameson, he was he husband of Elvira Bonzo Jameson. Richard had moved to NJ in 1980 and prior to that his work had relocated him to many locations across the North East. Before he retired, Richard had worked for Western Union in the telecommunications department over 30 years. He had also served in the United States Army during the Korean War where he trained communications officers in the signal corp. He attended Hardingville Bible Church in Monroeville. He was an avid astronomer and had even built his own telescope. Richard was a fan of all the Pittsburg sports teams but the Pittsburg Steelers were his favorite. Besides his wife Elvira, Richard is survived by; three sons, David Jameson and his wife Nancy of Roulett, TX, Douglas Jameson of Clearwater, FL and Peter “Pete” Jameson and his wife Rhoda of Franklin, TN; two brothers, Bob Jameson of Butler, PA and Charles Jameson of North Hills, PA; three sisters, Margaret Jean Scanlia of PA; Janet Rapp of North Hills, PA and Mary Lynn Onsman of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; three brothers, John Jameson, William Jameson and James Jameson. Memorial services will be held at Hardingville Bible Church, 284 Whig Lane Road, Monroeville, NJ on Sunday, January 11th at 2 PM. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
