Benjamin “Frank” Tyler, 97, of Hopewell Twp. died on Monday, January 5, 2014 at his home under the care of his wife and Hospice. Born in Bridgeton to the late Walter Tyler and Mary Cantillon Tyler, he was the husband of Patsy Hayes Tyler. He had been a Bridgeton resident all of his life. Prior to his retirement, Frank had been a self-employed electrician. He had also done electrical work at Kimble Glass Co. in Vineland and worked as a property manager for the Chestnut Square Apartment Complex in Vineland. In his free time, Frank sang in a barbershop quartet. He also enjoyed trains and traveling. Frank was an umpire in the Piedmont League which was a Triple A affiliate. He is survived by; his wife, Patsy Tyler of Hopewell Twp.; two daughters, Louise “Penny” Burks of Hudson, FL and Rebecca Knerr of Shiloh; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; a son, Walter “Timmie” Tyler; two brothers, Harry and Walt and four sisters, Evelyn, Veronica, Mary and Laura. Funeral services were held privately at the convenience of the family. Cremation took place at Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Twp. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.
