Obituary of Helen E. Timmons

Helen H. Timmons, 91, of Cedarville, Cumberland County died peacefully Monday evening surrounded by her daughters at Maurice House in Millville. The daughter of the late Joseph Hepner, Sr., and Emma Hepner she was born in 1923 in Fairton, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, James F. Timmons, in 1997. She was a loving mother and grandmother, dedicated teacher and an active member of the community. She graduated from Bridgeton High School and Glassboro State College. She then went on to teach second grade for 23 years before retiring in 1985, first at Fairfield Township School and then at Myron L. Powell Elementary School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cedarville and was Cemetery Treasurer for Cedar Hill Cemetery for 36 years. She was also a life-long member of the New Jersey State Parent Teachers Association and served as President of the Cumberland County Parent Teacher Association for three years. She is survived by her two daughters, Betty Timmons Henderson of Lindenwold, NJ and Dale Timmons Evanson of Secaucus, NJ, her son-in-law, Donald P. Evanson, her granddaughter, Elizabeth Timmons Henderson of Philadelphia, PA and her sister-in-law, Olive Hepner, of Ocean City, NJ. She was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph K. Hepner, Jr. and Albert Hepner, and her sister, Alice Hepner Smith. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 160 Main Street Cedarville on Saturday, December 13th at 12 Noon. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cedarville. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 Noon prior to the services.
