Obituary of Kenneth Garrison

Local Nurseryman, Kenneth Garrison, 74, of Fairfield Township died Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia following a brief illness. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Elwood C. Garrison and Eleanor Sigars Garrison and the husband of Joan Martin Garrison. He had been a Fairfield Township resident for 51 years and had lived in Bridgeton prior to that. A United States Air Force Veteran, Ken had owned and operated Garrison’s Nursery in Fairfield Township for the past 58 years. He was currently serving as president of the South Jersey Nurseryman’s Club, was a member of Evening Star Lodge, F & A M-Cedarville and had served as a former Fairfield Township Committeeman. He deeply enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and traveling. Ken and his wife Joan would have celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this coming November 9th. In addition to his wife Joan, he is survived by three children, Kenneth P. Garrison (fiancée, Leola) of Fairfield Township, Keith E. Garrison (Michelle) of Hopewell Township and Janene Garrison-Morrison (Bill) of Fairfield Township; a brother, Carl E. Garrison of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Metta R. Fogg of Hopewell Township; seven grandchildren, Kristen, Paige, Jeffrey, Briana, Brandon, Erin and William and three great-grandchildren, Tori, Joey and Adrianna. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway # 77, Upper Deerfield Township on Wednesday, November 5th at 10 AM. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Interment will take place at Cohansey Baptist Cemetery, Roadstown.
