Obituary of Brenda A. Jones

Brenda A. Jones, 65, of Millville died on Thursday June 12, 2014 at home under the care of hospice following a year of illness. Born in Aiken County, SC to the late Sammy F. Gary and June Ida Thomas Gary, she was the wife of the late Billy Jones. She had been a resident of Millville for the past seven years and prior to that had resided in Bridgeton, Philadelphia and SC respectively. Brenda had most recently been employed by the Woodbine Developmental Center for two years as a healthcare aide. She had also worked at several area dry cleaners, the Chatham Dress in Salem, Hamilton Dry Cleaners and Bridgeton Dry Cleaners as a presser. She was a member of Victory in Christ Ministries Church in Fairfield Twp. Brenda enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and playing video games, particularly puzzle games. She is survived by her children, Vivian Purdie of Philadelphia, PA, Harold M. Ryan, Jr. of Millville, June A. Ryan of Millville and Samuel Ryan of Trenton; four sisters, Lily Mae Drayton, Betty Myers, Mary Thomas and Alice Thomas all of SC; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; her best friend, Darlene Waters of Port Norris and her close friends, Anna May Young of Port Norris, Amy Powers of Vineland and Mark Young of Millville. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle A. Ryan. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp., on Tuesday, June 17th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services.
