Obituary of Dorothy Hance

Dorothy Hance, 91, of Bridgeton died on Saturday, May 25, 2014 at her home. Born in Newport, TN to the late Bruce Burgess and Lillie Hayes Burgess, she was the wife of the late Alfred “Doc” Hance. She had resided at her current address in Bridgeton since 1950 and prior to that had lived in her native Tennessee. Before her retirement, Dorothy had worked at Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton in the Packing Dept. She had also been formerly employed by M.C. Schrank Co., P.J. Ritter and Aberfoyle Corp. She is survived by her son, Marvin Ray Hance of Bridgeton and several nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ruble Burgess, Sr. and Eddie Burgess and seven sisters, Elna Burgess, Mildred Inez Fowler, Beulah Fields, Eulah Burgess, Unevee Burgess, Stella Sue Storms and Geneva Hanes. Graveside funeral services were held at the convenience of the family at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp.
