Obituary of Dolores M. Ball

Dolores M. Ball, 79, of Port Norris died on Monday May 19, 2014 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland following five years of declining health. Born in Wilmington, DE to the late Linwood Smith and Reba Waters Smith, she was the wife of Johnnie M. Ball, Sr. She was raised by her great-aunt Sarah Mae Fields and was a lifetime resident of Port Norris. Prior to her retirement, Delores had worked at the Woodbine Developmental Center in Woodbine over 25 years. She had been a member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church in Port Norris. Surviving are her nine children, Sara Mae Wilson of Seabrook, Denise Artis of Vineland, Johnnie M. Ball, Jr. of Port Norris, Marguerite Ball of Port Norris, James M. Ball of Marietta, GA, Renee Williams of Millville, Cheri Mitchell of Accokeek, MD, Kim Ball of Vineland and Jeffrey Ball, Sr. of Corbin City; a cousin, Linwood Collins of MD; 28 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by twin sons; a granddaughter, Keisha Artis and two grandsons, Shawn Michael Ball and Steven Sattler. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, May 24th at 1 PM.
