Obituary of Millard S. Thomas

Millard S. Thomas, 86, of Hopewell Township died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Memorial Hospital of Salem County. Born in Bridgeton on April 4, 1928 to the late Leonard L. Thomas, Sr. and Alice Kinkle Thomas, he was the husband of the late Laurena Hannan Thomas. He had resided in Hopewell Township for the past 34 years. Mr. Thomas had been a self employed farmer in Hopewell for 30 years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Elmer. He is survived by a sister, Armenta Gubine of MO and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Leonard L. Thomas, Jr., Clarkson Thomas and William Thomas and five sisters, Alice Thomas, Ruth Cole, Naomi Kienzle, Linda McCartney and Mabel Myers. Graveside funeral services will be held at the Pittsgrove Baptist Cemetery at Daretown, 368 Daretown Road on Wednesday, April 9th at 12:00 Noon where the interment will follow the services. Arrangements are under the direction of the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Township. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions in Mr. Thomas' memory be made to First Baptist Church, 209 Broad Street, Elmer, NJ 08318.
