Reginald R. "Reds" Scott, 64, of Upper Deerfield Twp. went home to be with the Lord on Sunday February 23, 2014, following a brief illness. Born in Pocahontas, VA to the late Arthur C. Scott and Bertie Bond Scott; he was the husband of the late Alice Kuhlman Scott. He had been an Upper Deerfield resident most of his life. Reds had been the co-owner and operator of Big John's Pizza in Bridgeton for over 44 years. He had been in the pizza business since he was 11 years old. He was a very active member of the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and drove the church van. He also volunteered with the Beacon of Light Ministries through the church where he ministered to the South Woods State Prison and Cumberland Manor. He enjoyed playing pool with his son in his youth. Reds put Jesus first, then his family and then pizza. He was known to say, "Prayer works when money doesn't." He is survived by; a daughter, Renei Scarano and her husband Doug of Upper Deerfield Twp.; a son, Reginald Scott, Jr. and his wife Rochelle of Upper Deerfield Twp.; four grandchildren, Madeline Scott, Emily Scott, Jackson Scott and Eva Marie Scarano; a brother, George Scott of Pocahontas, VA; a sister, Carole Jean Roberts of Sugar Grove, VA and several nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Alice M. Scott; a brother, Charles Lindbergh Scott and two sisters, Rita Fay Williams and Lita Rae Klenk. Funeral services will be held at the Bridgeton Assembly of God Church, 424 Indian Ave. on Friday, February 28th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Laurel Lawn Cemetery in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday evening, February 27th from 5 PM to 8 PM and on Friday morning, February 28th from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
