I had a chance to meet Dawn a couple times through my husband Gene, whom knew Dawn for at least 20 years. When I spoke with Dawn she was an inspiration. She was a sweet individual and will be missed, my heart goes out other family. God Bless you Dawn and May you fly freely as an angel. You will be missed by many but you leave many with very good memories. RIP

Dawn & I became best of friends after college. We shared many special memories. We grew apart for many years, but was thrilled when we reconnected. I am back to missing her, but will never forget her. Her spirit lives on.

I am very sorry for your loss. It can be hard for friends and family to find the right thing to say. Thankfully, we can echo the comforting words that we read in the Bible. At Revelation 21:4 it tells us that the God of all comfort will soon do away with all suffering, sickness, tears, and death. Daniel 12:2 tells us that at that time God will even undo the effects of death. Until then, may your loving memories of Dawn bring you comfort during this difficult time. Your family has my sincerest condolences.

Dawn, I will miss you. I will always remember your incredible spiritual and physical strength in the Sweat Lodge. When we shared Hospice volunteerism together you were always a brilliant light of caring and compassion. During an Adolescent Bereavement Camp I watched you soothe a young camper with a heavy heart as we walked through a wooded path. Always with your easy smile, down-to-earth personality, and caring heart...you were present in the moment.

Long talks late into the night in Inverness Scotland. Dancing to Brother and Albannach there and Estes Park CO. Drinking and laughing with spirit and joy. Beautiful smile still in my soul. I will miss her greatly.

I don't think any of us who knew Dawn knew anyone else like her. It would be easy to label her as unique, but that would be an understatement and an unfair reduction of a multifaceted woman who was truly a citizen of many cultures and realms of thought; she was beyond unique. I was always fascinated by the stories of her travels, her projects, and her knowledge of world religions and philosophies. My times with her were those where I could become the student instead of the teacher; the breadth of her knowledge was always matched by depth. I will truly miss our conversations on everything from Eastern philosophies to the history of Scottish clans. My life was richer because of her.
For nearly the past two decades our monthly massage sessions were not only physically therapeutic, but mental and emotional balms as well. She always brought me peace and serenity; I hope she has now found the same for herself.
