Obituary of Stanley W. Kenney

Stanley W. Kenney, 91, of Cedarville died Wed., Feb. 5, 2014 at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland. Born on the family ranch in South Dakota on April 21, 1922 he was the son of the late Peter B. Kenney and Izell Deans Kenney and was the husband of Dorothy Springfield Kenney. He was predeceased by two wives, Etta and Angie Kenney. Mr. Kenney had been a Cedarville resident for 13 years and had lived in Vineland and Millville previous to that. A veteran of World War Two, he had served his country in the United States Army in the European Theater and had been detained as a Prisoner of War at the Battle of the Bulge. Before his retirement he had been employed at the Wheaton Glass Co. for over 30 years and had also operated his own excavating business for 10 years. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church and the Millville American Legion. In addition to his wife Dorothy, he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Fauver of PA and Jean Etta Singer of Millville; five "Bonus" daughters, Jean Bendler of Fairfield Twp., Kathleen Simpkins of Hopewell Twp., Sandra Wright of Cedarville, Barbara Gilson of Pennsville and Julia DeThomas of Cedarville; two "Bonus" sons, Lawrence Hurst of Vineland and Louis Romano of Cedarville. He was predeceased by a son, Barry Hurst, two sisters, Pearl Lacotte and Ruby Thompson and four brothers, Chester, Paul, Albert and Carl Kenney. Funeral services will be held at Maranatha Baptist Church, 1524 Bridgeton-Millville Pike, Millville, on Sat., Feb. 8th at 11AM. Friends will be received at the church from 10 to 11 AM prior to the services. Interment will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
