Obituary of George A Miller

George A. Miller Sr., 72, of Vineland went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 3, 2014. George was born September 17, 1941 in West Virginia, but spent much of his life in New Jersey. He was formerly an equipment operator and long time mechanic but was best known for his helping hands and generous heart. He was truly an example of God's love in action. He is survived by his mother Janie Woods, his wife of 30 years Debra, daughters Janie Maines (Scott) & Wendy Pitt (Jesse), son John Miller (Stephanie) of AR, 9 siblings Harold Miller, Tracey Miller (Tammy), Rosalie Bean (Mike), Connie Querry (Gene), Rita Mitchell (Robert) all of NC, Bell McCann (Joe) of NJ, Melvin Miller (Cathy) of OH, David Miller, Wilga Crockett both of WV, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his father Frank Miller Jr. and wife Dreama, stepfather Alfred Shumate, son George Miller, II, and sister Irene Miller. Special thanks to his sister in law Terri and niece Leslie for their dedicated care. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12th at 11 AM at New Life Outreach Church, 528 Landis Ave, Bridgeton, where George attended and held a position on the board. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM and on Wednesday morning from 9 to 11 AM. Interment will take place at Greenwood Memorial Park in Millville. At George's request, NO ties are to be worn and dress is to be casual. In lieu of flowers, donations in George's memory can be made to www.curepsp.org.
