Jeffrey E. MacMahan, Sr., 63, of Quinton Twp., left this world his way on Friday January 24, 2014 in his home under the care of hospice following 10 years of illness. Born and raised in Bridgeton on February 17, 1950, he was the son of the late James H. MacMahan, Sr. and Mildred Mattson MacMahan. Jeffrey moved to Stow Creek Twp. in 1984 and had resided in Quinton Twp. for the past four years. Prior to his retirement in 2005, he had worked as a mail carrier and office clerk at the U.S. Postal Service Office in Bridgeton. He had been previously employed at DuPont Chambers Works in Deepwater. Jeffery loved to spend his free time fishing and golfing. He was an avid fan of the Phillies, Red Sox, San Francisco 49ers and NASCAR driver Jimmy Johnson. He took great pride in caring for his home. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey MacMahan, Jr. and his wife Crystal of Pennsville; his angel, Diane Lang of Greenwich; his siblings, Joan Rider and her husband Bruce of Bridgeton, Joyce Ireland of Upper Deerfield Twp., Jimmy MacMahan, his companion, Diane and step-daughter, Megan of Pittsgrove and Jack MacMahan and his wife Deborah of Stow Creek Twp.; his grandchildren, Dallas MacMahan and Cheyenne Boon-MacMahan and his cat, Hobie. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David Ireland and sister-in-law Shirley MacMahan. Memorial Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Saturday, February 1st at 2 PM. Cremation and inurnment took place at Laurel Lawn Crematory in Upper Deerfield Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 1 to 2 PM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mr. MacMahan's memory be donated to Inspira Healthcare Hospice Care, P.O. Box 160, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
