James C. O'Neill, Sr., age 82, of Millville passed away on Tuesday morning at Genesis Eldercare in Millville after a brief illness. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Charles and Mary (McNally), James was the husband of the late Catherine S. (Orbanus). He was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia in 1950. He also attended the University of Miami for one year. James was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Roman Catholic Church in Millville and the Knight of Columbus Council in Williamstown. He is survived by; his children, James C. O'Neill, Jr. of Key West, FL, Patrick "PJ" O'Neill of Baltimore, MD, Martin O'Neill of Millville, Kathryn D. Shoemaker of Millville, Toby O'Neill of Scotch Plains, NY and Zachary O'Neill of California; a brother, Joseph O'Neill of Philadelphia, PA; three sisters, Catherine McKee of Florida, Patsy Orbanus of Williamstown and Mary Harp of Norristown, PA; 14 grandchildren and a great-grandson. Prior to his retirement in 1987, James had worked as a plant manager at Owens-Illinois Glass in Glassboro of 25 years. He was a member of the Glass and Bottle Blowers Association Local #4 in Philadelphia. James enjoyed visits to the park, the ocean and the casino. He also enjoyed fishing and watching professional football. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Church, 32 Carroll Ave., Williamstown on Monday December 16th at 10 AM. Interment will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Williamstown. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 10 AM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in James's memory to The Helping Up Mission, 1029 East Baltimore St., Baltimore, MD (410)-675-4357.
