Mildred M. Gardiner, age 71, of Bridgeton died Friday, November 8, 2013 at South Jersey Extended Care in Bridgeton following a five year period of declining health. She was the daughter of the late Uno William Mustikka and Geneva McNamee Mustikka and was born in Brooklyn, NY on April 28, 1942. She had been a Bridgeton resident since 1977 and had previously resided in Vineland and New York. Before her retirement in 2009, Mildred had been employed at Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Township as a switchboard operator for 15 years. An active member of Pearl Street Baptist Church, she had served in many capacities at her church including Sunday School Superintendent and Assistant Sunday School Superintendent and also as a Deaconess. Surviving are her four children, Nicholas H. Gardiner of Bridgeton, Linda Glenn of FL., Louise Puccio of Pittsgrove, David Gardiner of Bridgeton, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, William McNamee and a sister, Kathleen Danman. Memorial services will be held at Pearl Street Baptist Church, 139 Pearl Street, Bridgeton on Saturday, November 16th at 11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mildred Gardiner's memory to Pearl Street Baptist Church, 139 N. Pearl Street, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
