Obituary of Cecilia M. Stewart

Cecilia M. Stewart, 62, of Upper Deerfield Twp. died on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Inspira Regional Medical Center in Vineland following three years of declining health. Born in Fairton on January 25, 1951 to the late Irving Durham, Sr. and Ellen Johnson Durham, she was the wife of Edwin Stewart. Cecilia had been a resident of Upper Deerfield Twp. for the past 28 years and prior to that had lived in Fairfield Twp. She was self employed as a home health caregiver to those in need and had also been previously employed by Owens Illinois Glass Co. in Bridgeton. She was a member of the Nanticoke Lenni Lenape Indians to which she was known as "One with too many children". Cecilia attended Maranatha Baptist Church. Besides her husband, Ed, she is survived by four sons, Howard Pierce, III of Upstate NY, Bryan Pierce of Ovid, NY, Michael Pierce of Vineland and Jon Allen Stewart of Upper Deerfield Twp.; seven sisters, Rebecca Rivera of Bridgeton, Ellen Durham of Rosenhayn, Noa Brooks of Bridgeton, Lindy Brown of Ocean City, Kathleen Hannah of Vineland, Joyce Durham of VA and Marie Bailey of Fairfield Twp.; a brother, Irving "Butch" Durham, Jr. of Fairfield Twp. and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce Allen Durham and Jeffrey Carl Durham. Funeral Services will be held at Maranatha Baptist Church, 1524 Bridgeton-Millville Pike (Rt. 49) Millville on Monday, November 4th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
