Myrtle E. Pierce, 82, of Rosenhayn passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at her home under the care of hospice. Born in Fairton on December 1, 1930 to the late Jacob Coombs and Hester Pierce Coombs Coker, she was the wife of the late Frank Thomas Pierce. She had been a resident of Bridgeton for many years before moving to her current home in Rosenhayn. Prior to her retirement, Myrtle had worked at Bridgeton Hospital in the Laundry Dept. for 36 years. She had also been previously employed by the Hunts Foods Co. in Bridgeton. She was a member of Glory Tabernacle Church in Bridgeton. A member of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Indians, she was known by her tribal name "Starflower". She is survived by two daughters, Hester Ridgeway of Bridgeton and Katrinka Hewitt of Bridgeton; two brothers, Benjamin Pierce of Millville and Jacob Pierce of Bridgeton; her granddaughter and caregiver, Louann Dilks of Rosenhayn; a special friend, Diana Ford of Bridgeton and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank T. Pierce, II; a brother, Robert Pierce; a son-in-law, William A. Ridgeway; a grandson, Shane Pierce and a great-grandson, Frank Willis, III. Funeral Services will be held at Glory Tabernacle Church, 1018 Buckshutem Rd., Fairfield Twp., on Tuesday October 29th at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Gouldtown Memorial Park in Fairfield Twp. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM to 11 AM prior to the services.
