John Uttley, 55, of Bridgeton died on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 under the care of Hospice following an extended illness. Born in Bridgeton on August 26, 1958, he was the son of the late Glenn Uttley and Iva Dixon Uttley. He had been a resident of Bridgeton all of his life. Prior to his illness, John had worked for the Clairidge Casino Hotel in Atlantic City in one of its restaurants for 8 years. He had attended First Methodist Church in Bridgeton. John enjoyed listening to music especially Elvis. He was also an avid fan of WWE wrestling and sci-fi movies. He is survived by two brothers, Glenn Uttley of Bridgeton and James Uttley of Rutherfordton, NC; two sisters; Linda Grace of Millville and Goldie Uttley of Bridgeton; his roommate, Carl Bracken of Bridgeton; three nephews, two nieces and many other family members. Funeral Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Wednesday, October 30th at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 1 PM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers contributions in Mr. Uttley's memory can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Assoc. of American, 706 Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
