Obituary of Valerie Francis Dower

Valerie Francis Dower, 41, of Fairfield Twp., unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2013. Born in Bridgeton on April 2, 1972 to Edith Goldsboro Pierce and the late Eugene Pierce, Sr., she was the wife of the Derrick J. Dower. Valerie had been a Gouldtown resident most of her life. She had been currently employed as an LPN at the Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Twp. She had also been employed as an LPN at the Vineland Developmental Center for 15 years and South Jersey Extended Care in Bridgeton for two years. She had been a member of Trinity AME Church in Gouldtown. She loved to sing Kareokee and was pasionate about trying different foods. She loved her patients and continued to care for them even after they had been discharged. She also worked with the YPD youth program, served as a missionary and was a past leader of the Young Women's Forum at Trinity AME. Cole and Winter were her heart. Besides her husband, she is survived by; her mother, Edith Goldsboro Pierce of Fairfield Twp.; her daughter, Aspen Pierce of Fairfield Twp.; a granddaughter, Winter Angel Pierce; a sister, Angeline Pierce of Fairfield Twp.; her son, Charles Cole; a step-son, Nyshawn Bryson; a nephew, James Pierce-Johnson; her mother-in-law, Janice Watson; her sister-in-law, Ieshia Clark; her brother-in-law, James Johnson; two god-children, Jeremiah Childers and Darryion Hubert and a host of aunts, uncles and other family members. She was preceded in death by; her father, Eugene Pierce, Sr.; her brother, Eugene Pierce, Jr.; her maternal grandparents; Jerome and Angeline Goldsboro and her paternal grandparents, Morris Willard and Ruth Money. Funeral services will be held at Trinity AME Church, 1107 Bridgeton-Millville Pike, Bridgeton on Monday, October 14th at 1 PM.
