William "Bill" P. Henry, 74, of Pittsgrove Twp. passed away on Sunday October 6, 2013 at the Inspira Healthcare Hospice Inpatient Unit in Bridgeton following a brief illness. Born in Philadelphia, PA on January 5, 1939 to the late Richard Henry and Ruth Robinson Henry; he was the husband of Carol Price Henry. He was raised in the Philadelphia before moving to Mullica Hill in his late teens. Once Bill and Carol were married in 1962 they became Pittsgrove Twp. residents where they lived for the rest of his life. Bill had attended Overbrook High School in Philadelphia. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served as an engine mechanic in Louisiana and Goose Bay, Labrador. Prior to his retirement in 2000, Bill had worked for Kimble Glass Co. in Vineland for 36 years as a Tube Machine Operator. He and his wife had just celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on September 28th of this year. Bill was a horse and buggy enthusiast who owned his own surrey and buggy. He enjoyed traveling with his wife down south. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and farmer. Bill and his sister, Shirley had also appeared on American Bandstand. Besides his wife Carol, he is survived by; a daughter, Twyla Henry and her companion Gilbert Schwegel of Rosenhayn; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Sibley; seven siblings; Richard Henry of Woodbury, Elaine Avant of Ruffin, SC, Edward Henry of Harlem, NYC, Shirley Mann of Middleburg, FL, Elvina Bowman of Madison, NC, Robin Barrowclough of Woodbine and John S. Henry of Japan and several nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by four siblings; Virginia Shanley, Sandy Henry, Keith Henry and Ruth Chadwick. Funeral services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Friday, October 11th at 1 PM. Interment will take place at Olivet United Methodist Cemetery in Pittsgrove Twp. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 12 Noon to 1 PM prior to the services at the funeral home.
