Obituary of Lynn Ada Girtain

Lynn Ada Girtain, 58, of Bridgeton passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Bridgeton on December 28, 1954 to the late Joseph R. Duffy and Agnes Wance Quigley, she was the wife of John P Girtain. She had been a Bridgeton resident all of her life. Lynn had been employed by Let's Do Linens in Bridgeton as a bookkeeper. She had also been previously employed by the Law Office of Davidow, Sherman, Eddowes and Geiger in Bridgeton, Castradi's Office Supplies in Hopewell Twp., Tech Floor in Bridgeton and Morton Jewelers also in Bridgeton. Lynn was a member of the Parish of the Holy Cross-Immaculate Conception Church in Bridgeton where she served as one of the first female members and past president of the Holy Name Society. She was also a founding member and costumer for the Off Broad Street Players. Lynn was a nine year participant in the Susan G. Komen 3-day Walk for the Cure. In addition to her husband John, she is survived by her daughter, Stacie Holding DeLise and her husband Patrick of Philadelphia; two step daughters; Barbara Farside and Paula Stankowitz; a brother, Bruce Duffy of Bridgeton; two grandchildren, Phoebe DeLise and Levi DeLise and three step-grandchildren, Charles Stankowitz, Jessica Stankowitz and Melissa Rogers. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Cecelia Mockewich, Veronica Harrop, Sheila Butterworth and Jan Tritthart and a brother, Duane Duffy. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at The Parish of the Holy Cross-Immaculate Conception Church, 312 N. Pearl Street, Bridgeton on Tuesday, October 8th at 1:30 PM. Interment will take place at Fernwood Memorial Park in Hopewell Twp. A visitation will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Tuesday from 11 AM to 12:30 PM.
