Barbara (Corson) Joyce, 72, of Fairfield Twp., died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Born in Hopewell Twp. on February 17, 1941 to the late William A. Swing and Ruth Davis Swing, she was the wife of the late Irving L. Corson, Jr. and Leroy Joyce, Jr. respectively. Barbara resided in Fairfield Twp. for the past eight years and prior to that had lived in Bridgeton and Stow Creek Twp. She retired from Bridgeton Hospital in 1995 after 35 years of service as an Emergency Room Nurse. She then worked for Family Practice in Upper Deerfield Twp. for 7 years. A member of First Baptist Church in Bridgeton, she was currently serving as church treasurer. Barbara enjoyed going on trips with her church family and crafts. A graduate of the Bridgeton High School class of 1959, she enjoyed attending Tuesday morning breakfasts with her classmates at the Bridgeton Diner. She is survived by two sons, Irving L. Corson, III and his wife Sandi of Hopewell Twp. and William R. Corson and his wife Suzy of Hopewell Twp.; two step-sons, Leroy Joyce, III and his wife Joyce of Gaffney, SC and Ted Joyce and his wife Dodie of Narvon, PA; three step-daughters, Marilee Joyce, Lucretia Olbrich and her husband Kenny of Upper Deerfield Twp. and Pat Baitinger and her husband Rusty of Hopewell Twp., a grandson, Irving L. Corson, IV and his wife Amy of Hopewell Twp., a great-granddaughter, Madison Corson who was her pride and joy; a sister, Emily S. Ayars and her husband Leonard of Stow Creek Twp.; two nieces, Michelle Mehaffey and her husband Doug of Upper Deerfield Twp. and Susan Ayars of Stow Creek Twp.; a great-niece, Amanda Mehaffey; a great-nephew, Travis Mehaffey and several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at the PADGETT FUNERAL HOME, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Twp. on Wednesday October 2nd at 7 PM. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 6 PM to 7 PM prior to the services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Barbara's memory to the First Baptist Church Deacon's Fund, 136 East Commerce Street, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
